Dummy Missions 'R' Us

So here’s the first part of a two part story Enjoy!!!!

My BFF was telling me a story this afternoon about some of her coworkers who managed to get into all sorts of trig equations with each other.

The story goes like this, Doug and two other co-workers have a mutual female friend who they all have known for at least fifteen years and in whom all consider a younger sister or something. Well in the past few years they, (the guys) have noticed the Beauty in which she has become, and a couple of them have formed an interest in her, and one of them, Stan, decides to start putting some moves on her. She in turn has tried to avoid being left alone with Stan, and has always placed herself in a position that would put her closer to other members of the group.

This had been going on for a while, when she starts a conversation with the guys about guys approaching females, and their tactics and such. She then discloses that she very rarely gets approached by guys when she is out, and all of the guys are stunned to think that other men don’t see her beauty like they do.

Not long after this discussion Stan decides to talk to this beauty and ask her out. The other guys don’t think it’s wise because she should be seen as their sister and nothing more, but Stan is adamant and so takes the plunge…. Into icy waters as it turns out, because the beauty says that she has only ever thought of him as a brother.

Stan takes the rebuff and gets indignant, and says that he doesn’t really want to see her for a while, and to her credit Beauty stays away from the entire group. A week after Mission Icy Waters, Beauty sends Stan a loooonnnnnggggg letter to explain Her FEELINGS. Stan sends Beauty an immediate text telling her that he is not going to read her letter, and that he doesn’t want to talk further about the subject.

It is at this point that my BFF’s friend, Doug, decides to become Chief Save-A-Whore*, and calls Beauty to see how things are going since he hasn’t seen her since the failed Mission. She tells him about Stan’s not so subtle come-on tactics, and about her letter to Stan in the aftermath and his response. She also explains that her letter explained her feelings for Stan and how she likes him as a brother but nothing more. She feels terrible because she cares for him soooo much. She wishes to patch things up with Stan, but he refuses to see her, in fact he says he doesn’t want to read her letter because he doesn’t want to hear all of her reasons for not wanting to go out with him.

Soooo, Doug decides that he should trick Stan into seeing Beauty, and he wants my BFF to confirm how Captain American he’s being….did I mention that none of Beauty’s girlfriends are hanging out with Doug and his friends anymore either since the Mission?

How do you feel Doug, Beauty and Stan handled failed Mission Icy Waters?
*Chief’s name has been changed for G rating

  1. About the only person not going about this wrong is Beauty.

Why is Doug trying to trick Stan into doing something he's been very clear about not wanting to do?

Everybody needs to just stop for a second. Stan gets to feel rebuffed and all that for a while and Beauty gets to not have to be in awkward situations.

  2. :-) Thanks for your response, and I agree with you on most of what you said.

Do let me know what you think of my take on this situation, in Part 2 =)

  3. OK when I saw "Chief Save-a-Whore" my first thought was "Is that the same as Captain Save-A-Ho? Or does one rank the other?" Yes, we see where the maturity in the fam went and it wasn't me cuz!

And yeah I agree with y'all. I think everyone needs to just take a step back and "mind they bizzness" as my aunts have said on several occasions...normally right before the meddle :-D.
